February Fun!

I guess since it's now March 1, I should probably post some pics from February! It has been an exciting month with lots of visiting of grandparents and great grandparents...and we can't forget Valentine's Day! Adam's mom and dad watched Rachel so we could go out to eat at Septembers, a fabulous restaurant in Hendersonville. We also got adventurous and hiked the ridge trail at Radnor Lake. Fun times!

Here's Rachel and Mama Elaine when we went to see her and Papa Charles a couple of weeks ago...

Papa and Mimi were visiting Mama Elaine and Papa Charles the same day! So, Rachel got a ride on Papa's shoulders...

Me and Rachel before church one Sunday...in her cutie pie dress that was handed down from cousin Laura...

Daddy's adore their little girls...

Nana sent Rachel the best Valentine's Day gift ever...a piece of tissue wrapping paper! She loved it and had a ball ripping it to shreds!

Looking mischievious...

Sweet girl...

Sneaking a little chew on the remote while Mommy wasn't paying attention...

Lounging by the kitchen stove while we were cooking supper...

Pa came to visit too! He brought Valentine gifts too! Rachel laughs and giggles at this crazy lion!

Playing at Nana's after coming up to spend the day with Cade and Laura...somehow we didn't get any pictures at Cade and Laura's...I guess the 3 of them kept me and Christy hopping! No time for pictures.

YeeHaw cowgirl fun on Nana's rocking horse...

...and riding the car at Nana's...

Happy Valentine's Day to mommy and daddy!...Rachel is all dressed for the occasion the night mommy and daddy got to go to dinner while Papa and Mimi watched her...

More pics of playing at Mama Elaine and Papa Charles' house...

Hiking at Radnor Lake...Rachel absolutely LOVES riding in her backpack, but she's heavy to carry!

A family pic at Radnor...

Rachel and I spent part of a day with Ma this past week. Her birthday is on Feb. 29 and since there wasn't a 29th this year, we celebrated a little earlier in the week by paying her a visit for several hours. Ma loved it, but Prissy was insanely jealous and had to be put in another room for trying to nip at Rachel.

Bad hair day after naptime one day...

Eating Aunt Bren's spaghetti and LOVING IT! From the girl who will hardly touch table food, this was a very nice surprise! Hats off to Aunt Bren for making the yummiest spaghetti this side of the Mississippi!...even Rachel loves it!

The BIG SNOW STORM

Well, we finally managed to get a huge snow storm in Nashvegas! We had loads of fun taking Rachel sledding for the first time! Here are some pics of our adventures.

Snow days mean alot of playing indoors as well as having a little fun outside. Here's Rachel having a blast in her jumper...

We had to have a practice run on sledding inside before we went out so Rachel would be familiar with the sled and not be afraid of it...Nimbus hopped on for the ride too!

The snow was much too crunchy to make a snowman on Saturday. We had no idea until we got outside and we already had our "face" ready...so we improvised and made a snowman on the ground:o)

Getting dressed to go out in the freezing snow was crazy! Do you think this will keep Rachel warm???? We really should have invested in a snow suit! It might have helped us avoid so many layers.

Me and Rachel in the snow...

Rachel laid back and taking it easy...

By the time we got all those clothes on her, she was not the happiest camper...a pacifier did the trick so we could go play in the snow...

I think I might have had more fun than Rachel...I LOVE SLEDDING!! Just wish we had a 4-wheeler to do some real sledding!

Our house in the snow...

The "main" road to our house did not look good...much less our subdivision. Unfortunately, the baby shower for Amy had to be cancelled on Saturday. I was really disappointed since we had been planning it for several months...but with these road conditions, I don't even think Amy could have made it! Needless to say, we went ahead and made the chicken salad and Adam and I have been snacking on chicken salad croissants all weekend!

Rachel's bad hair day only got worse after wearing a boggin and then taking a nap...good thing we can't leave the house...her hair was outta control!

Adam and Rachel...we got smart and used a boppy pillow to prop her up when we went out on Sunday. I think she enjoyed it alot more. She could hardly stay sitting up on Saturday, but with the boppy pillow, she was riding in style...

Me and Rachel...

Hiking at Radnor Lake and Other Fun Times

We've been having lots of fun since the last time I posted any pics. Here are a few of the highlights...

We went hiking at Radnor Lake over MLK Holiday. Rachel got to try out her new backpack and she absolutely loved it...even in the rain! Here's a pic of her and Adam after we put up her rain guard. Rachel mainly enjoyed trying to stick her face out the side of the rain guard to feel the rain on her face.

Rachel...all smiles...sitting in her Daddy's old rocking chair from when he was a little boy...

Acting innocent as she made a mess with the toilet paper...

Excited to be finally making better friends with Nimbus...

Hiking at Radnor again...before the rain set in...

We took this pic of Rachel before we left for church on Sunday. It represents her first Sunday in the big girl Sunday School class. She moved from the baby nursery to the bigger class this past week.

Rachel's 9 Month Pics

We headed back to Portrait Innovations in Mt. Juliet for Rachel's 9 month pics since her 6 month pics turned out so well there. However, we were a bit disappointed this time. We had a male photographer with kind of a deep voice and he just did not work well with Rachel. I think she was halfway scared when he talked! Next time we'll ask for the girl that did her 6 month pics again. Here are the pics we ended up getting some prints made of.

Rachel's fun day at the park

We think she really enjoyed herself...

SNOW DAY!!!!

Well, what started out to be a big snow suddenly was reduced to 0.5 inches. We were determined to get some pics of Rachel in the snow, and who knows, this might be our only chance! Rachel thanks Nana for her new sled! Hopefully we'll get to put it to better use on another day

Here's Rachel looking out the window earlier in the day just wishing it would snow so she could go out and play...

She certainly wasn't a huge fan of it once we got out there...

But she soon warmed up to it a little...

Not too many smiles though...just checking things out...
