Easter

Easter was so much fun this year! Rachel got the hang of hunting the eggs and we ended up with a big bowl full of candy! She practiced hunting eggs at home quite a bit and had four egg hunts over Easter weekend!

Here she is "practicing" at home...

Putting stickers on eggs at Nana's...with her "big eye". She cut her eye with one of the plastic eggs on Friday. It was kind of bruised on Friday night and we figured she'd have a black eye for Easter. However, Saturday morning when she woke up, her eye was completely swollen shut! I freaked out! We took her to the dr and he said it actually wasn't due to the small cut at all. She had an eye infection that was leading to an ear infection as well. She had just had her 1 yr well visit on Tuesday so this infection developed after that I guess. Anyways, it is a very rare infection that the dr said he normally only sees less than 4 times per year and most kids get hospitalized over it (to go on IV antibiotics)! Needless to say, God was watching over us when she cut her eye with the plastic egg b/c that's the reason we took her to the dr. We thought it was swelled up due to the cut which wasn't the case at all. We caught it very early so she got an antibiotic shot (which made her 5th shot for last week) and she'll be on antibiotics for 10 days. Her eye was pretty much better by Sunday afternoon and looked completely normal by Monday. God works in mysterious ways sometimes!
